| What is the difference
between the Client-Server and Single User License ?
|
|
|
The Single User license only
allows one machine to operate by itself, using a locally stored
set of data.
The Client-Server license allows multiple systems to communicate
with each other on a network that allows its users to share
a group set of data that is distributed to each individual
seat when it connects to the server. |
| Is Webclerk cross-platform
compatible? |
|
|
Yes. Webclerk operates
on both Windows-based and Macintosh computer systems. It also
operates fine on a network with both PCs and MACs. For example,
the server can be a Windows NT-based computer, and the clients
can be either Windows- or Mac-based computers. |
| Is it
more than a web server? |
|
|
Yes: The software title is
WebClerk but technically it is CommerceExpert.
WebClerk is the web-based component of the CommerceExpert
software solution, and is bundled with the business management
/ inventory control portion of the software. The total package
allows a business to self-host its own eCommerce web site.
|
| Where
can I get customer support? |
Users have several
options:
- WebClerk comes
bundled with a comprehensive online manual called "Tech
Notes" which can be customized to its users' needs. It
can be made available over the Internet so it is accessible
anytime. To access TechNotes, choose "Departments > Tech
Note reference" within any splash (spiral arrow) screen
of WebClerk.
- Seek free user help from
the Forums and other services located at www.WebClerk.com
|
| Is it secure?
|
|
|
Yes : WebClerk has
been tested under a variety of environments. WebClerk
is designed in a fashion where there are no possibilities of
back doors or access to files not in the jitweb folder.
|
| Can you
run multiple websites off one computer? |
|
|
Yes, WebClerk is fully
capable of running multiple websites off one computer.
By running multiple instances of WebClerk, you may
map a website to different ports on a network connection.
Please note however, that this will increase the load on the
computer that is hosting the websites. |
What are
the advantages to the CD versions?
|
There are three
versions of the product, described below:

This version is a fully working single user version.

|
| Why are we giving away software in the hottest and fastest growing market in the
world? |
-
Market Presence: We have
integrated commerce and eCommerce technology to allow everyone
to sell on the web.

product out in the market being used is a crucial step in
launching WebClerk on a larger scale.

as powerful on the web as a large reseller that is already
established on the web. We can show them how easy WebClerk
is to use and how powerful it is in the store and on the
web.
- Doorway product:
After you become successful using our software, we will
have created a business relationship with you. We are confident

|
| What is the "jitweb"
folder? |
|
|
The "jitweb" folder is the
standard root directory for the website you make available to
your customers over the Internet. All of the documents you would
like to make available on your website need to be within THIS
FOLDER. |
| Where's the manual?
|
|
|
Webclerk's online "manual"
is included with the Training CD and Client server versions
of the program, and may be accessed through any splash ( spiral
arrow) screen of the program by choosing "Departments > Technote
Reference..." |
| How does
WebClerk operate? |
|
|
Simply put, WebClerk
operates off of a kind of server side cookie ( a small chunk
of information stored about the user). WebClerk keeps
track of its user(s) by maintaining a unique numeric ID for
each time the user logs into the website. WebClerk
is database-driven, and the number is filled in automatically
whenever a user logs onto the site.
